Chris Weitz’ wasn’t trying to pull a bait-and-switch with the DVD release of "New Moon" — he swears.
Fans who purchased the second "Twilight" film might have been surprised to find that the "deleted scenes" Weitz promised had been — deleted?
"I’m basically a big, fat liar," he tells PopcornBiz. "I put it out there that there are deleted scenes, but I just realized there aren’t. It was an honest mistake."
He’s coming clean to avoid the kind of frenzy normally reserved for Robert Pattinson and company.
"I don’t want to get Twilight fans banging down my door," he said, "demanding deleted scenes."
