Will Smith Drops First New Song in Over a Decade (Audio)

“Concussion” star partners with Colombian group Bomba Estéreo on new track

Will Smith reminded fans of what made him famous in the first place by releasing his first new song in over a decade on Friday.

Smith partnered with Colombian group Bomba Estéreo on a remix of their song, “Fiesta.” Smith met the group during a recent trip to Colombia and approached them about collaborating on a new song.

Smith and the group recently completed shooting on a new music video, which will be released in the near future, according to Rolling Stone. Smith will also rap in Spanish in the video.

Smith first came to national attention rapping under the name The Fresh Prince alongside DJ Jazzy Jeff. The two earned a Grammy for the song “Parents Just Don’t Understand” and had multiple hits like the song “Summertime.” After Smith’s acting career took off, he began rapping less and less.

The blockbuster movie star, who will next be seen in NFL-related drama “Concussion” before returning to action as a supervillain in Warner Bros.’ “Suicide Squad,” released his last album, “Lost and Found,” in 2005.
