The Writers Guild of America, East and West, have reached a tentative deal with CBS News for a new contract.
The three-year agreement covers more than 300 news writers, producers, editors, graphic artists, production assistants and other staffers working in the network’s TV and radio news operations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington, D.C., according to published reports.
The deal needs to be ratified by the guild’s members before it can replace the old contract, which expired today. The WGA is a labor union composed of the thousands of writers who write the content for television shows, movies, news programs, documentaries, animation and new media.
