Writers Guild Sets Awards for Feb. 14

Nominations will be announced on Dec. 4 for television and Jan. 7 for film

The Writers Guild of America will be handing out Valentine’s Day gifts to a handful of screenwriters next year, with simultaneous WGA Awards ceremonies taking place on Saturday, Feb 14 in Los Angeles and New York.

The two affiliated guilds, WGA, West and WGA, East, announced their awards timeline on Thursday, with television nominations to be announced on Dec. 4, theatrical nominations on Jan. 7 and videogame nominations on Jan. 12.

As usual, the WGA will be the last of the major guilds to announce their awards, following the Producers Guild (Jan. 24), Screen Actors Guild (Jan. 25) and Directors Guild (Feb. 7).

The WGA, West ceremony will take place at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel, while the WGA, East awards will be held at the Edison Ballroom.

Television-Radio-New Media Eligibility Period

Long Form, Episodic, Animation, Children’s and Short Form categories: First broadcast or exhibited between Dec. 1, 2013 and Nov. 30, 2014

Comedy/Variety, Quiz and Audience Participation, Documentary, Daytime Drama, News, Radio, and Promotion categories: First broadcast or exhibited between Oct. 1, 2013 and Sept. 30, 2014

Series Eligibility Period: First broadcast or exhibited between Dec. 1, 2013 and Nov. 30, 2014

Theatrical Screenplay Eligibility Period: Exhibited theatrically in Los Angeles for one week during 2014

Documentary Screenplay Eligibility Period: Exhibited theatrically in Los Angeles or New York for one week during 2014

Videogame Eligibility Period: Originally released between Dec. 1, 2013 and Nov. 30, 2014
