YouTube Talent Company Big Frame Secures $3M Seed Round

MysteryGuitarMan and DestormPower are two of Big Frame's most popular stars

Big Frame, a YouTube management and production company, has secured $3 million in seed money from investors such as Anthem Venture Partners, Daher Capital and LaunchPad LA.

This is the first financing the company has taken since its July 2011 launch, and it will use the money to add staff, invest in technology and data and initiate new projects.

“Our network is rapidly expanding and we have big goals for the coming year and beyond,” CEO Steve Raymond said in a statement. “We will use this round to continue investing in profitable models for content programming and marketing on YouTube.”

BigFrame has made a name for itself by guiding the careers of top YouTube talent like MysteryGuitarMan and DeStorm Power. While stars produce much of their own content, Big Frame helps to better monetize that content and expand its audience.

Connecting their stars with brands is a key ingredient to that monetization, and has made deals for its clients with brands like Home Depot, Fox and Sony.

As one of YouTube’s premium content partners, it launched BAMMO, a channel, in early April.

Based in Los Angeles, the company’s staff has grown from three to 16 since its launch. CEO Steve Raymond steers the business while co-founder Sarah Penna runs the talent department.
