“Princess Bride” lovers who are also fans of The CW’s just-premiered “Katy Keene” have just had a wish they may not even know they had granted: Cary Elwes has joined the Lucy Hale-led “Riverdale” spinoff series, a spokesperson for the network told TheWrap Friday.

No details are being given on the “Stranger Things” star’s role at this time — other than the fact that he has a hidden connection to Katy (Hale) — or when he will appear on the new show, which debuted Thursday.

“Cary Elwes has been cast as someone with an important connection to Katy’s mysterious past,” “Katy Keene” co-creator Michael Grassi told Entertainment Weekly, who first reported the news of Elwes’ addition to the show.

Co-created by Grassi and “Riverdale” creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, “Katy Keene” follows the lives and loves of four iconic Archie Comics characters — fashion legend-to-be Katy Keene, singer/songwriter Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), performer Jorge Lopez/Ginger (Jonny Beauchamp), and “It Girl” Pepper Smith (Julia Chan) — as they chase their twenty-something dreams in New York City together.

The CW announced it had ordered 13 additional scripts for the drama series on Jan. 7, a month before the drama premiered in its midseason slot. On Wednesday, the day before “Katy Keene” made its debut, Hale’s Katy crossed over onto an episode of her new show’s mother series, “Riverdale.”

“Katy Keene” airs Thursdays at 8/7c on The CW.
