Kim Kardashian Slams Caitlyn Jenner’s Memoir on ‘Ellen’: ‘Things Aren’t Truthful’ (Video)

“My heart breaks for my mom,” the reality TV star told Ellen on Thursday’s episode

We’ve already gotten a glimpse of the rift growing between Caitlyn Jenner and the rest of the Jenner/Kardashian clan and on Thursday’s episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Kim Kardashian explains why.

The issue stems from Jenner’s memoir “The Secrets of My Life.” The Kardashians claim the book contains some lies or exaggerations that aren’t truthful, especially as it pertains to matriarch Kris Jenner.

“My heart breaks for my mom, you know, because I feel like she’s been through so much and there’s, you know… [Caitlyn’s] promoting this book and she’s saying all these things and you know, I just don’t think it’s necessary, you know, and I just feel like it’s unfair, things aren’t truthful,” Kardashian said.

Kardashian doesn’t go so far as to say that Jenner is lying. When DeGeneres asked if that meant Jenner wasn’t being honest in the book, Kardashian explained:

“I feel like it’s taken her a really long time to be honest with herself, so I don’t expect her to be honest, you know, about [Kris] now, but it’s just so hurtful. Like I just, I wish her all the success in the world, but not at our expense.”

Kris Jenner has already spoken out against the book. In a future episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” she expressed her anger at her former partner for allegedly portraying her in an unflattering light.

“I read it and basically the only nice thing she had to say was that I was great socially at a party one time,” said Kris to her daughters Kim and Khloe. She added: “None of it makes sense. Everything she says is all made up.”

Kardashian said she hasn’t spoken to Jenner in a few weeks, but stressed that the silence doesn’t signal the end of their relationship.

“She taught me about character and so much growing up and I just feel like I don’t respect the character that she’s showing now. But like I said, we, I’ll still always have a major love for her, for who she was in my life.”

Jenner has been promoting her book in recent weeks. She recently sat down with Diane Sawyer on “20/20” for the second time, during which she talked about her transition and her life in its aftermath.
