Larry Flynt, the provocative Hustler magazine publisher, has offered $1 million for any information about Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney's elusive tax returns and off-shore assets.
The Hustler founder, editor and publisher — famous for his obscenity-related court battles and life-long championship of the First Amendment — bought two full-page ads in newspapers this week, offering "up to a million dollars in cash" for Romney's "tax returns and/or details of his offshore assets, bank accounts and business partnerships."
Flynt bought two full-page ads, one in the in the Sunday edition of the Washington Post, another in the Tuesday edition of USA Today, to publicize his offer.
"What is he hiding?" Flynt asked in the ads, which include a phone and email tip lines for sharing any dredged-up financial documents. "Maybe, now, we'll find out."

Romney appears to have made an enemy by vowing to support federal obscenity laws, which Flynt has fought against.
It's not the first time Flynt has offered the $1 million for information on a Republican candidate.
Last September, he offered the same amount for proof that then-GOP presidential contender and Texas Gov. Rick Perry had an extramarital affair.
A year before that, he put up another $1 million for proof of similar sexual transgressions by Republican Sen. David Vitter of Louisiana.
Neither offer received any credible information.
