Martin O’Malley to End His Campaign (Report)

Associated Press sources say former Maryland governor is ending his campaign for the Democratic nomination

Martin O’Malley appears to be the first victim of the Iowa caucuses.

The Associated Press is reporting the former Maryland governor is ending his bid for the presidency.

According to the Washington Post, O’Malley announced the suspension following an abysmal showing in Monday night’s Iowa caucuses, ending his White House aspirations.

O’Malley was a distant third behind Vermont senator Bernie Sanders and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton. With about 70 percent of precinct reported, he registered barely 1 percent of all votes counted.

O’Malley struggled to get his campaign off the ground, in a primary dominated by Clinton and Sanders.
