‘Morning Joe’ Rips ‘Gross’ Political Ad That Uses Scalise Shooting to Attack Left (Video)

Joe Scarborough can’t believe the attack is used to “pick up a couple of votes”

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” ripped a political commercial that uses the shooting of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise as an excuse to mock the “unhinged left, with host Joe Scarborough calling the ad “gross and disgusting” on Monday.

The commercial for the special election in Georgia claims, “The unhinged left is endorsing and applauding shooting Republicans,” asking “When will it stop?’ The ad goes on to say, “It won’t if Jo Ossoff wins… vote Karen Handel for Congress.”

Co-host Mika Brzezinski appeared appalled by the ad; Scarborough was quick to point out the it was paid for by a third party and Handel wasn’t behind the ad herself.

Last week, a gunman opened fire with a rifle on a group of Republican politicians practicing for the upcoming Congressional baseball game, striking Scalise and several others. The gunman was killed by Capitol Hill Police and Scalise remains hospitalized.

The “Morning Joe” namesake said he can’t believe anyone is “low enough” to use the tragedy to try to “pick up a couple of votes.”

“We don’t want this to be the Wild West,” Brzezinski said.
