Ben Barnes in Talks to Join Legendary's 'Seventh Son'

Ben Barnes is in talks to join Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore in Legendary Pictures' "The Seventh Son," TheWrap has confirmed. Sam Claflin had previously been in talks for the role.

The movie is an adaptation of Joseph Delaney's "Last Apprentice" novels.

The young adult books, set in the 1700s, are about Thomas Ward, an apprentice to the an exorcist who can see and hear witches, slow down time and otherwise fight evil.

Bridges will play Thomas's boss, Master Gregory. Moore has been cast as the villainous Mother Malkin.

"Seventh Son" is directed by Sergei Bodrov and produced by Thomas Tull, Lionel Wigram and Basil Iwanyk.

Variety first reported the news.
