The kids of “Riverdale” look a little different than their comic book counterparts, in the first look at The CW’s adaptation of the Archie comic books.
In this exclusive clip (above), we meet Betty (Lili Reinhart), who can’t contain her excitement at seeing her best friend Archie (KJ Apa) again after a summer apart.
Her friend Kevin (Casey Cott) tries to persuade her to confess her feelings for Archie to him already, but she’s hesitant — why hasn’t he asked her out if the feelings are mutual?
Before they can get that deep into it, a game changer presents itself: Archie appears in his bedroom window — which is directly across from hers — shirtless. Archie got hot!
And thus, “Riverdale” makes its mark as something entirely new for this wholesome, All-American teen franchise.
“Riverdale” premieres Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
