Born through a surrogate mother, Helen Grace Hightower is the couple’s second child

Robert De Niro and his wife, Grace Hightower, have a new baby daughter, the actor's publicist Stan Rosenfield announced Friday.

Helen Grace Hightower weighs 7 pounds and 2 ounces. She was born through a surrogate mother.

The girl is the couple's second child. Their first, Elliot, was born March 18, 1998.

De Niro and Hightower, his second wife, married in 1997. They split in 1999, but their divorce was never finalized, and they renewed their vows in 2005 — years after a highly publicized, bitter custody dispute over Elliot.

De Niro has four other children. He and his first wife, Diahnne Abbott, have a son, Raphael. He adopted Abbott's daughter from a previous relationship, Drena De Niro.

De Niro also has twin sons, Julian Henry and Aaron Kendrik, from a live-in relationship with Toukie Smith. The twins were conceived by in vitro fertilization and delivered by a surrogate mother in 1995.
