The producer Tony To, founder of Ensemble Entertainment, has been named EVP Production at Walt Disney Studios, the company announced Tuesday.
He will report directly to Sean Bailey, the studio's president of production.

BURBANK, Calif. – March 29, 2011 – Sean Bailey, president of production for The Walt Disney Studios, announced today that Tony To will join the Studios’ production team as Executive Vice President, Production, reporting directly to him. To’s 
responsibilities will include overseeing all aspects of physical production for the Studios’ live-action feature film slate.

To is a veteran producer and director who has teamed with some of the most talented professionals in the entertainment industry. In 1998, after working on several HBO projects, he produced the Tom Hanks miniseries “From the Earth to the Moon” for the network. He later served as co-executive producer alongside Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg on the seminal 10-part HBO saga “Band of Brothers” and its critically acclaimed follow-up “The Pacific.” All three projects earned the Emmy Award for Outstanding Miniseries, among numerous other accolades.
As a producer, To worked with Carl Franklin and Billy Bob Thornton on 1992’s “One False Move” and Robert Redford on the HBO project “Grand Avenue.” To has directed episodes of “The Pacific,” “Band of Brothers” and “House M.D.” His producing and directing projects have earned Emmy, Golden Globe, Producers Guild and Peabody awards.
In 2010, To founded Ensemble Entertainment, a media company focused on event television programming.
