‘Toy Story 3’ Tops DVD Charts

Woody and Buzz best “How to Train Your Dragon” and “Predators”

Woody and Buzz debuted at the top of the DVD rental and sales charts last week, according to Rentrak. “Toy Story 3” handily beat another animated hit “How to Train Your Dragon” to be the week’s top-selling disc and the horror film “Predators” to be the most rented film.

“Predators” had been the top rented film last week.

Also bowing strongly — at least on the sales end — was the HBO mini-series “The Pacific,” which was the week’s third biggest selling disc.

Helped no doubt by the release of “Toy Story 3,” the first two movies in the Pixar trilogy elbowed their way back on the sales charts to claim the ninth and tenth spots.

In its second week of release, “Sex and the City 2” dropped several spots to third and fourth place on the rental and sales charts respectively. The carnally focused foursome had been last week’s top selling and second most rented disc.

Next week brings the release of Adam Sandler’s latest arrested development comedy “Grown Ups” and the fanboy favorite “Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World.”
