Cybill Shepherd will star as the Deen-esque celebrity chef Jolene Castille, who claims self-defense, saying that she'd heard police were on the hunt for a rapist who fit the victim's description.

The episode draws from two real-life incidents that brought racial tensions in America to the fore. Unarmed Florida teen Martin was fatally shot by neighborhood watch member George Zimmerman in 2012.

I'm done with SVU. I've been a long-time fan…seen every episode. This is so disgusting and below the belt.

I think Trayvon's family and Paula Deen both should sue NBC and Cybil Shepherd.

SVU has always done episodes ripped from the headlines, touching on a lot of sensitive stuff and issues that audiences find disturbing. It is to be expected.

      • Daisiemae

But not so thinly veiled and pointedly about a specific person.

        • James

Well there's still that thing about L&O CI doing an episode about Charlie Sheen not too long ago.
