‘Beauty and the Beast’ TV Spot Unveils New Footage (Video)

Disney’s live-action remake is due in theaters on March 17

Disney has treated “Beauty and the Beast” fans to some new footage from the upcoming live-action remake starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens.

In a 30-second TV spot called “Charm Her,” the Beast’s cute companions Cogsworth (Ian McKellen), Mrs. Potts (Emma Thompson) and Lumiere (Ewan McGregor) give Stevens’ character advice on how to woo Belle.

“You must charm her — be gentle, kind, sweet,” the characters tell him. “Come on then, show me that smile!”

Then, the spot shows a new scene of Belle and the Beast sitting in the garden after the Beast saved Belle from a pack of wolves.

“I never thanked you for saving my life,” Belle tells him.

“I never thanked you for not leaving me to be eaten by wolves,” he responds.

Director Bill Condon’s remake follows Belle (Watson) as she sacrifices herself to save her father by going to live at the home of the Beast (Stevens). But over time she learns that he was once a dashing prince, cursed to look like a monster and that only true love can break the spell.

The film also stars Kevin Kline as Maurice, Josh Gad a Le Fou, Stanley Tucci as Cadenza and Luke Evans as Gaston.

“Beauty and the Beast” is due in theaters on March 17.
