Madeleine Sackler co-directed her first film, "Mechina: A Preparation," in 2005 and went on to work on MTV’s "Human Giant." She then edited short documentary pieces for clients including Trudie Styler and Moxie Pictures, and returned to her love of feature-length documentaries when she became part of the research team for Martin Scorsese's "Shine a Light." Since then has worked as an editor on the documentary "Wise Women Speak" (director Joni Steele Kimberlin) and the documentary on Oscar-winner Howard Shore’s new opera, "The Fly" (director Elizabeth Cotnoir, 2010). Most recently she edited a documentary for ESPN's "30 for 30" series (director Cruz Angeles). "The Lottery" marks her directorial debut and was released in June 2010. She resides in New York.
