Gaumont International TV’s Katie O’Connell Marsh to Exit in Company Restructuring

Newly created entity Gaumont Television will be run by Gene Stein

Gaumont International Television CEO Katie O’Connell Marsh is exiting the company she launched in 2010, following a restructuring of parent company Gaumont, the Paris-based entertainment company announced Monday.

“Katie expressed an interest in closing her chapter at Gaumont and we are grateful for all of the success she brought to this division,” said Christophe Riandee, Vice CEO of Gaumont, in a statement. “We are very proud of Hannibal, Hemlock Grove and Narcos that Katie shepherded from concept to screen.”

O’Connell’s former home base, L.A.’s Gaumont International Television, Paris-based Gaumont Television Europe and Paris-based Gaumont Animation will now all fall under the newly created banner of Gaumont TV, which will be overseen by Gene Stein.

Stein is taking on the new role of President, Gaumont TV and will be based in the U.S.

Stein most recently served as CEO of Sonar Entertainment since May 2014, where he was responsible for the overall creative direction and strategic management of the company.

At Sonar, he executive produced three series launching in the next 12 months, including MTV’s “The Shannara Chronicles,” WeTV’s “South of Hell” and BBC/FX’s “Taboo.”

Additional television executives now part of Gaumont Television and reporting to Riandee will be Isabelle Degeorges, head of French-language productions, Elizabeth Dreyer, head of European Co-Productions, Pierre Belaïsch, President of Animation, and Erik Pack, President of International Distribution.
