We suggest a name change to “Grey’s Periphery”

On the final new episode of 2022, “Grey’s Anatomy” set in motion star Ellen Pompeo’s departure as a member of the main cast — and revealed the dates of her final two episodes.

Pompeo — who plays lead character Meredith Grey, who the show also happens to be named after — signed to produce and star in a still-untitled Hulu limited series based on a true story, and as a result scaled back her time on “Grey’s” to just eight episodes. Six of those episodes aired this fall, and the show is now on hiatus until February

Pompeo will return for the “Grey’s” midseason premiere on Feb. 23, and then come back once more for the season finale. ABC aired a trailer for the Feb. 23 episode, which you can watch below.

So with the main character that provided the show’s main pun gone, will the show need to rebrand? If so, we suggest “Grey’s Periphery,” which would pretty accurately describe her relationship to the other characters now.
