Fox drew first place in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic with a 2.7 rating/8 share and in total viewers with 9.8 million. Both of its primetime offerings rose in the demo, starting with "American Idol" at 8 p.m., which climbed 11 percent from last Thursday for a 3.1/10 and grew 12 percent in total viewers with 12.7 million. "Glee" the following hour jumped 20 percent from its last original airing three weeks ago, posting a 2.4/6 and taking 6.8 million total viewers. The episode has drawn news media attention because it depicted a school shooting.
CBS, which ran repeats throughout the night, came in second in ratings and total viewers with a 1.9/5 and 9 million.
Univision took third place in ratings and fourth in total viewers with a 1.6/5 and 3.9 million.
NBC was fourth in ratings and fifth in total viewers with a 1.5/4 and 3.5 million. "Community," which ran its much-anticipated puppet episode at 8, climbed 20 percent to a 1.2/4 and had 3 million total viewers, while "Parks and Recreation" at 8:30 drew a 1.5/5 and had 3.1 million total viewers. "The Office" at 9 inched up to a 1.9/5 with 3.8 million total viewers. "Go On" at 9:30 was even with last week for a 1.1/3 and took 2.7 million total viewers. "Hannibal" drew even with last week's soft premiere, posting a 1.6/5 with 4.3 million total viewers.
ABC came in fifth in ratings and third in total viewers with a 1.2/3 and 4.2 million. With the exception of "Wife Swap" at 8, which inched up to a 1.4/5 and had 4.6 million total viewers, the network aired repeats.
