‘Mercy’ on the Move (updated)

NBC finds the drama works better at 9 p.m.

NBC continues to do all it can to give "Mercy" a shot at finding viewers.

The network has just decided to move next Wednesday’s planned 8 p.m. episode to the 9 p.m. slot. A repeat "Minute to Win It" will fill the 8 p.m. hole.

"Mercy" hasn’t shown many signs of life in the lead-off hour. NBC programmers no doubt want to see if the series’ vital signs improve at all when taken out of the early hour.

It doesn’t hurt that "Mercy" is from exec producers Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun, who have deep relationships with many NBC brass — as well as a first-look deal with the network.

Update: NBC announced on April 29 that the remaining episodes of "Mercy" this season will air at 9 p.m.

"The show made the switch from 8:00/7:00c [April 28] following a repeat of ‘Minute to Win It.’ ‘Mercy’ will do the same on May 5 and May 12, its final two episodes of the season. ‘Minute’ will likewise continue at 8:00/7:00c with repeats on May 5 and May 19 and an original installment on May 12," the network said.
