Is “Game of Thrones” star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau a brother from another mother to Dwayne Johnson? It would certainly seem so, judging from a promotional image used by international distributors of Coster-Waldau’s upcoming film “Shot Caller.”
The image — which is included on the Canadian DVD cover of the film, among other places — features the man who plays Jaime Lannister sporting a tough pose, a sweet ‘stache — and a look that will seem awfully familiar to fans of Johnson’s 2013 film “Snitch.”
As Birth.Movies.Death news editor Scott Wampler pointed out Friday, Coster-Waldau’s stance, body and wardrobe are nearly identical to those employed in an image of Johnson used on a poster for “Snitch,” making it appear as though Coster-Waldau’s head was slapped on Johnson’s body.
“Y’know, if I didn’t know any better, I’d say that’s the same photo with different heads. But surely no one would be that lazy,” Wampler wrote in a tweet pointing out the resemblance.
Of course, it’s also possible that it’s a remarkable, eerie coincidence.
Either way, Coster-Waldau and Johnson might want to do a little digging at Ancestry.com; maybe they’ll see each other at the next family reunion.

A rep for Saban Films, which is releasing the film in the U.S. noted that it is using a different image of Coster-Waldau to promote its release here.
