‘Once Upon a Time’ Star Elliot Knight Reveals ‘Career Goal’ of Playing James Bond (Video)

British actor evaluates Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosnan in latest edition of TheWrap’s “Drinking With the Stars”

You know the name, you know the number, but did you know “Once Upon A Time” star Elliot Knight dreams of playing Britain’s top secret agent?

When asked if there are any traditionally white characters that he would like to see play by a black actor, Knight answered “James Bond. And I would like to play James Bond,” in the most recent installment of TheWrap’s “Drinking With the Stars.”

“That was a role that I grew up with, and I watched all the movies with my dad,” Knight told the The Wrap’s Greg Gilman. “Each holiday I would sit and I would watch all of them, from ‘Dr. No’ all the way through.”

Knight believes that the most recent incarnation of the franchise, starring Daniel Craig as Bond, is the best yet, though he gave a respectful nod to Craig’s predecessor Pierce Brosnan. Knight thinks the current films, “Casino Royale” in particular, “took [the franchise] back to its roots; it’s just a brilliant film.”

On the franchise as a whole, Knight said he would accept any opportunity to see his name among the credits of a Bond film.

“It’s an amazing character, it’s so much fun, it’s a great British export,” he said. “It would be a dream to be able to be a part of that in whatever capacity, so that’s a career goal for me.”

Catch Elliot Night as “Merlin” in “Once Upon A Time,” airing Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
