Fans who couldn’t wait to see the red band trailer of Sony’s upcoming “Khali the Killer” film were in for a major surprise when they went to check it out… and it wasn’t due to its violent content.
Instead, when the clip was posted on Tuesday, the entire movie landed on Sony’s official YouTube page, accidentally giving fans an early viewing of Jon Matthews’ action movie.
The movie ended up being on YouTube for nearly eight hours before it was ultimately yanked, and the 46-second trailer has yet to be posted in an official capacity by the studio. In all, the video received nearly 11,000 views before it was taken down.
The news of the mistake was first reported by Comic Book Resources.
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment had no comment.
In addition to Matthews writing and directing the film, it stars Richard Cabral as the titular hitman whose final job is ruined when he develops empathy for his victims.
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released the movie on DVD in both the Netherlands and Germany in November 2017. The movie is slated to be released in the U.S. on August 31 with no theatrical release planned.
