The Muppets Lip Sync N.W.A’s ‘Express Yourself’ (Video)

Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear launch M.W.A to recreate “Straight Outta Compton’s” classic track

Ever wondered what one of N.W.A’s biggest hits would look like if it was rapped by the Muppets? Well now is your chance to find out.

While the biopic “Straight Outta Compton” is dominating the box office, Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear are recreating one of the groundbreaking hip-hop group’s biggest hits, “Express Yourself,”  by way of cleverly edited footage from their own hit film, 1979’s “The Muppet Movie.”

Fozzie proves he is a genuine gangsta rapping lines originally performed by Dr. Dre, with additional lyrics from Ice Cube and MC Ren, as M.W.A (Muppets Wit Attitudes).

The famous bear is backed up by Animal on drums and Kermit — slappin’ a banjo — as the stage shots switch to them driving through the countryside in a vintage car while trying to follow an old school map.

“I still express, yo I don’t smoke weed or sess,” Fozzie raps, sounding suspiciously like Dr. Dre, “‘Cause it’s known to give a brother brain damage. And brain damage on the mic don’t manage nothing.”

The pair are joined by some of their Muppet friends including Gonzo, Rowlf the Dog, Beaker, “Sesame Street’s” Big Bird and a very large bear.

The YouTube video was created by AnimalRobot, and was released before the highly anticipated “Muppets” reality TV-style series debuts this fall.

“The Muppets” will premiere on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
