After being curiously silent on the matter for most of the day, President Trump decided Thursday night was a good time to weigh in on the sexual misconduct accusations made against Sen. Al Franken by KABC radio anchor Leeann Tweeden.
So it was that POTUS took to Twitter, where he offered up his latest insulting nickname, “Al Frankenstien” [sic], followed by a pointed question that many Twitter users agreed was painfully un-self aware.
Trump was referring to the now-infamous photo taken during a 2006 USO tour of Franken groping Tweeden while she slept. Franken issued a lengthy apology to Tweeden on Thursday, saying also, “I am asking that an ethics investigation be undertaken, and I will gladly cooperate.”
Trump’s tweet about Franken comes just over a year after the leak of a 2005 Access Hollywood video in which Trump bragged that because he is famous, he can grab women “by the p—y.”
“Hello we are in the f—–g upside down,” writer Jessica Valenti said.
“You don’t get to comment on that bro,” said “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” writer Travon Free, who posted a link to the video.
“Maybe he grabbed her p***y? Sorry, that was your line,” said another user.
“He should have grabbed her in the p—y…then it’s ok according to some tapes I heard,” said still another user.
