‘Wonder Woman’ Trailer: Gal Gadot Turns Fierce Fighter To Save the World… and Chris Pine (Video)

Standalone film directed by Patty Jenkins hits theaters on June 2

Warner Bros. has dropped a new trailer for Gal Gadot’s “Wonder Woman,” which chronicles her evolution from a young girl to savior of the world.

In the clip, Amazon princess Diana is trained on the island of Themyscira to become the fiercest of fighters and the wearer of indestructible bracelets. Through it all, her powers and gifts remain a mystery to her. “She must never know the truth about what she is,” her mother says.

When American military pilot Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) is washed ashore, she learns of the World War that is devastating parts unknown to her. Diana decides to leave home to end the battling and bring peace to the planet.

“Whoever you are, you are in more danger than you think,” Steve tells Diana.

“If no one else will defend the world, then I must,” she responds.

And Wonder Woman is born.

The standalone “Wonder Woman,” from director Patty Jenkins, also stars David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis, Robin Wright, Chris Pine and Danny Huston.

Gadot made her first appearance as Wonder Woman in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” which debuted to $166 million at the box office this past spring. She will also appear in “Justice League” in November, alongside Ben Affleck, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Amber Heard, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams.

“Wonder Woman” will be released in theaters on June 9, 2017.
