Academy Award nominee Hailee Steinfeld is in talks to play the lead in "Sleeping Beauty," TheWrap has learned.
The screenplay by Lindsay Devlin is currently out to producers.
The movie fits into the current landscape in which studios are remaking fairy tales. Relativity Media and Universal both are working on "Snow White" movies.
Steinfeld, who is 14, was nominated for the Oscar for best supporting actress for 2010's "True Grit."
Devlin is repped by APA's David Boxerbaum and Mosaic's Emily Rose.
