Jill Gatsby, niece of murdered Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen, says there is a reason why her aunt only left her $10 in a will worth over $6 million – but she’s not telling what it is yet.
“That’s a real family secret regarding Ronni and my career as a writer,” Gatsby ( pictured right ) told E! News, “which I am choosing to keep to myself at this time.”
Driving home from a premiere after party, Chasen was shot five times with 9mm hollow-point bullets, with three wounds to the chest and two wounds to her right shoulder, according to a leaked coroner’s report. The attack took place on Whittier Dr., just south of Sunset Blvd. in Beverly Hills at around 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 16.
News of the publicist’s will, dated June 10, 1994, came one day after 43-year old Harold Martin Smith fatally shot himself in a Hollywood transient hotel as Beverly Hills police approached the ex-con to serve a search warrant on Dec. 1.
BHPD were lead to Smith, who seems to more and more likely have had nothing to do with the death of the 64-year old Chasen, by a tip from a viewer who saw a segment on the case on “America’s Most Wanted.”
