‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ TV Spot: First Look at Master Splinter (Video)

The rat mentor reminds Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo that they “live, die and fight as brothers.”

Master Splinter makes his first appearance in a new TV spot for “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” that Paramount debuted during the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday.

The turtles’ sansei, played by Danny Woodburn (“Seinfeld”) and voiced by Tony Shalhoub (“Monk”), narrates the 30-second preview (above), which features new footage of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo in action.

“You live, you die, you fight as brothers, ” Splinter tells his boys. “Remember, nothing is as strong as family.”

The Michael Bay-produced adaptation of the beloved franchise that began as a comic book series in the ’80s, hits theaters on Aug. 8.

Jonathan Liebesman (“Wrath of the Titans”) directs with Megan Fox starring as reporter and TMNT ally April O’Neal, Will Arnett plays her wisecrackin’ cameraman, Johnny Knoxville provides the voice of Leonardo. In addition, William Fichtner plays the bad guy Shredder and Whoopi Goldberg co-stars as news editor Bernadette Thompson.
