James McAvoy, Daniel Radcliffe Team Up to Make a Monster in First ‘Victor Frankenstein’ Trailer (Video)

The eponymous mad scientist gets the hero treatment in this reboot written by Max Landis

“Victor Frankenstein” will make its lead and his sidekick heroes when 20th Century Fox’s reimagining of the classic Mary Shelley monster tale hits theaters on Nov. 25.

The first trailer released Tuesday shows an upgraded Igor (Daniel Radcliffe) — usually portrayed as a monstrous hunchback — now a protégé to the titular mad scientist (“X-Men” star James McAvoy) who helps him bring dead things back to life.

They start with a monkey and end with a monster. But from the looks of things, both creations will come back to haunt them, while the police are also on their tail for stealing body parts. Despite all of the duo’s problems, it looks like there will always be time for playful banter.

Jessica Brown Findlay, Andrew Scott and Freddie Fox co-star in the film written by Max Landis (“Chronicle”) and directed by Paul McGuigan (“Lucky Number Slevin”).
