Bryce Dallas Howard has become the latest celebrity to engage in the proud tradition of teasing comic book movie fans, as recent tweets have them excited at the possibility of her playing Poison Ivy in the upcoming “Gotham City Sirens.”

Created in 2009 by “Batman: The Animated Series” mastermind Paul Dini, “Gotham City Sirens” features Poison Ivy, Catwoman and Harley Quinn, as they band together to protect themselves in an increasingly unstable Gotham City. Margot Robbie is slated to return to the role of Harley, with “Suicide Squad” director David Ayer in charge of the project. But Catwoman and Ivy have yet to be cast.

Enter Howard, who was asked by a fan on Twitter on Saturday about whether she’d be interested in playing the seductive villain once known as Pamela Isley. Howard responded with a gif of Uma Thurman’s portrayal of the character in “Batman and Robin.” On Sunday, she further teased interest in the role with another tweet.

Fans really have gone crazy for the idea and even crazier that Howard is just a big tease about the possibility.

Howard has become a big name in sci-fi lately, sharing the screen with Chris Pratt in “Jurassic World” and getting praise last year for her performance on “Black Mirror” as a vain socialite in a world run by social media ratings in the Season 3 episode, “Nosedive.” She is slated to star in the sequel to “Jurassic World,” which will be directed by J.A. Bayona and released in 2018.

“Gotham City Sirens” is currently in pre-production, and a release date has not been set.

The DC Extended Universe will continue with “Wonder Woman” on June 2, followed by “Justice League” in November and “Aquaman” in Dec. 2018.
