CBS Cancels ‘Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior,’ Renews ‘CSI: New York’

“Criminal Minds” spin-off couldn’t hold strong ratings for its mid-season debut

Another of the season's freshmen shows has been canceled to make way for the 2011-12 season: CBS has canceled "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior," after the spin-off pulled ratings that were decent but not good enough for the top network.

CBS also renewed "CSI: New York."

The cancellation comes two days after CBS cancelled the freshmen shows "$#*! My Dad Says," "The Defenders," and "Mad Love."

"Suspect Behavior" debuted Feb. 16 to 12.9 million total viewers and a 3.3 in the 18-49 demo, but the drama, led by Forest Whitaker (above) couldn't maintain those numbers.

CBS will present its fall lineup to advertisers on Wednesday.

The cancellation and renewal were first reported by Deadline.
