The jury in the involuntary manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray reached a verdict Monday morning, TheWrap has confirmed. The verdict is expected to be read at 1 p.m. PT.
After a weeks-long trial, the jury went into deliberations Thursday.
Murray, the physician of singer Michael Jackson at the time of his June 2009 death, is accused of causing Jackson's death by giving the singer propofol to treat his insomnia. While Murray told police that he had given Jackson the drug nearly every night for the two months that he had been treating him, the doctor's defense team maintains that Jackson self-administered the fatal dose.
The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office determined that Jackson died of acute propofol intoxication, with sedatives also playing a factor.
Murray faces up to four years in prison, and the loss of his medical license if convicted.
