Halle Berry Explodes as Action Mom in First ‘Kidnap’ Trailer (Video)

Action thriller, long orphaned by the Relativity bankruptcy, still has no release date

Halle Berry leaps into action when her young son is dragged into a stranger’s car in the first trailer for her new thriller “Kidnap.”

Relativity, which still has not set a release date for the movie beyond “winter,” released the trailer on Monday as part of the marketing rollout of its movie slate since emerging from bankruptcy earlier this year. Ryan Kavanaugh‘s studio had set a December 2 release date as recently as mid-May.

Berry stars as a mother who watches as her young son enters a green car with tinted windows and no license plates — and soon gives chase in her bright red minivan.

Conveniently enough for the plot, she’s without her cellphone, which she dropped at the parking lot of the playground where the abduction occurred.

Luis Prieto directed the movie from a script by Knate Gwaltney.

The cast also includes Sage Correa, Chris McGinn and Lew Temple.

Berry produced the movie along with Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Erik Howsam, Joey Tufaro, Gregory Chou and Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas.

Executive producers include Bill Johnson, Jim Seibel, Ara Keshishian, D.J. Gugenheim, Tucker Tooley, Ryan Kavanaugh, Doris Pfardrescher, Mike Drake, Todd Trosclair, Knate Gwaltney and Colin Bates.
