All In The Family: ‘Weeds’ Grows At TV Guide Network

Repeats of Showtime’s signature comedy, from Lionsgate TV, will air on the company’s cable channel starting in September.

Lionsgate has sold off-net repeats of its Showtime comedy "Weeds" to its in-house TV Guide Network.

Episodes of the Mary-Louise Parker half-hour will begin running in June. They’ll be part of a new primetime lineup that will also include the previously acquired buzz series "Ugly Betty" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm."

"Like with ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ we’ve gotten in ‘Weeds’ a terrific, well-acted show with a devoted fan-following," said Allen Shapiro, who runs both TV Guide Network and TVGuide.com

TV Guide Network has bought all seasons of the show, including the in-production season six. The LA Times’ Company Town blog first reported the acquisition Wednesday.
