“Better Late Than Never” has been renewed for a second season, NBC announced on Thursday.
The series follows Henry Winkler, George Foreman, Terry Bradshaw, William Shatner and comedian Jeff Dye as they travel the world. During Season 1, the five navigated their way through Tokyo and Kyoto, Japan; Seoul, South Korea; Hong Kong; and Phuket and Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Winkler, Shatner, Bradshaw, Foreman and Dye will return for the second season. Their travel destinations will be announced at a later date.
“Like everyone else, we fell in love with all the adventures Henry, William, Terry, George and Jeff faced as they educated themselves and adapted to new customs in foreign cities,” said Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and reality group of NBC Entertainment, in a statement. “This innovative format allows for unprecedented escapades that cut through the clutter and grabbed viewer’s attention. We can’t wait to see what places they explore and how they adapt to their environment in season two.”
“Better Late Than Never” was a ratings success among new broadcast shows this summer, averaging a 1.8 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic and 8.1 million viewers over its four-episode run.
