Brad Pitt to Narrate NFL Films’ Super Bowl Documentary

“America’s Game: 2009 New Orleans Saints” will debut Sept. 8 on the NFL Network

"Moneyball" star Brad Pitt is pulling a Bo Jackson and moving from baseball to football, as the Oscar-nominated actor will narrate this year's Super Bowl documentary from NFL Films, reports Yahoo.

"America's Game: 2009 New Orleans Saints" will debut on the NFL Network at 9 p.m. on Sept. 8, the night before QB Drew Brees and the rest of the Saints kick-off their title defense.

New Orleans memorably beat the Indianapolis Colts last February in a game that was viewed by an estimated 106.5 million football fans, making it the most-watched program in TV history.

Pitt was reportedly chosen because of his humanitarian work in New Orleans in the five years since the city was left devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

Past celebrity narrators for NFL Films have included some of Pitt's co-stars, such as Morgan Freeman ("Se7en"), Bruce Willis ("12 Monkeys"), James Gandolfini ("True Romance") and Gene Hackman ("The Mexican"), as well as Alec Baldwin and Martin Sheen, who played supporting roles in "The Departed," which Pitt produced.

"Mad Men" star Jon Hamm handled last year's narrating duties for the NFL's documentary on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
