British actor Andrew Lincoln ("Teachers") has landed the lead role in AMC’s upcoming miniseries "The Walking Dead."
Lincoln will play Rick Grimes, a small-town cop who takes charge of a small town following its zombie-fication. The project, from writer/director Frank Darabont ("The Shawshank Redemption"), and producer Gale Anne Hurd will shoot in June for a Halloween premiere.
While he’s done several British TV series, Lincoln is probably best known to U.S. audiences for his role as Mark in 2003’s "Love, Actually."
