HBO has set the premiere date for “Catherine the Great,” its upcoming limited series starring Helen Mirren and Jason Clarke.
The four-part show, which is made in association with Sky, will debut Monday, Oct. 21 at 10/9c on the pay TV channel.
In the UK, all episodes of “Catherine The Great” will launch on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW TV on Thursday, Oct. 3, with a premiere on linear network Sky set for 9 p.m. local time.

Starring Academy-award winner Helen Mirren (“The Queen”, “Gosford Park”, “The Last Station”) and Jason Clarke (“First Man”, “Zero Dark Thirty”, “Mudbound”) this four-part drama is set against the politically tumultuous and sexually charged court of Russian empress Catherine the Great (Mirren) who wielded supreme power throughout Russia for nearly half of the 18th century. The HBO/Sky production follows Catherine towards the end of her reign during her passionate affair with Grigory Potemkin (Clarke). Amid scandal, intrigue and immense conflict, they develop a unique and devoted relationship, overcoming their adversaries and together serving as the architects of modern-day Russia through a series of liberalizing reforms.
The series is directed by Philip Martin and written by Nigel Williams. Mirren, Martin, and Williams executive produce “Catherine the Great,” with David Thompson acting as executive producer for Origin Pictures and Charlie Pattinson and Christine Healy serving as EPs for New Pictures.
“Catherine the Great” premieres Monday, Oct. 21 at 10/9c on HBO.
