CBS Films Picks Up Horror Script ‘Hellfest’

The movie centers on a costumed killer's murderous rampage

CBS Films has picked up "Hellfest," an original horror screenplay about a costumed killer.

Set in a theme park on Halloween night, the movie will center on a murderer's systematic slaughter of unsuspecting visitors, who think the killings are just part of the show.

First-time feature film writers William Penick and Chris Sey co-wrote the script. Gale Anne Hurd ("Aliens," "The Terminator") developed the project and will produce through her company Valhalla Entertainment.

Penick and Sey wrote the script from a concept by Valhalla creative executive Ben Roberts, who will serve as executive producer.

“Chris and William have written a terrific script,” Hurd said in a statement. “I am beyond excited to work with CBS Films, who have the same vision for the project as we have.”

Vice President of Production Mark Ross and Creative Executive Alex Ginno are overseeing the project for CBS Films.
