George Clooney gets kidnapped during the production of a very expensive movie in the first trailer for Joel and Ethan Coen‘s “Hail, Caesar,” in which Clooney plays one of the world’s biggest movie stars in the Golden Age of Hollywood: the 1950s.
“‘Hail, Caesar!’ is a prestige picture, with one of the biggest stars in the world, Baird Whitlock,” says the voice over.
The film follows Eddie Mannix (Josh Brolin), a studio executive and fixer who keeps the salacious private scandals of the town’s biggest stars out of the press.
Scarlett Johansson, Ralph Fiennes, Channing Tatum, Brolin, Jonah Hill, Tilda Swinton and Frances McDormand co-star.
Tatum will play another actor, Fiennes a director, and Swinton a gossip columnist, who is after the truth about Clooney’s character’s disappearance.
“Hail, Caesar!” is set for a Feb. 5, 2016 release.
