Fox released the first look at its upcoming reality show, “I Wanna Marry Harry.”
In case you hadn’t heard about it, the series dupes 12 American women into believing they’re competing to date Britain’s Prince Harry.

Though just a short 30-second clip, it’s pretty illuminating on several levels. First, it seems unbelievable that these young women actually believe that Prince Harry would do a reality show. To give the producers some credit, they seem to go to great lengths to make it convincing.
Second, Fox isn’t shying away from comparisons to its former age of schlocky reality shows. It boldly gestures in the trailer toward “Joe Millionaire,” its 2003 show that deceived women into believing they were dating a millionaire when in fact he was a construction worker.

“Joe Millionaire” was a huge hit for Fox. Its finale was watched by 34.6 million people. And clearly, Fox needs to reinvigorate its reality slate.
