HBO released a new teaser for the upcoming Season 5 of “Game of Thrones” on Sunday.
Throughout the 30-second video, Varys (Conleth Hill) explains to a bearded Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) who should rule the Seven Kingdoms.
“The Seven Kingdoms needs someone strong,” the Master of Whisperers says. “A ruler loved by millions with a powerful army and the right family name.” In short, Westeros needs Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).
The brief spot also includes glimpses of Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) mastering her blade, Needle. We also see images of Dornish warriors in battle, a hint at the conflict that has arisen since Dornish prince Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal) was killed in combat by Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson) on behalf of Cersei Lannister Baratheon (Lena Headey).
HBO also released a two-minute and 45-second behind-the-scenes video on set design.
Season 5 of “Game of Thrones” premieres on Sunday, April 12, at 9 p.m.
