Gavin Polone Sues Summit & Scribe for Behind-the-Back Deal

Polone says he helped Pablo Fenjves write a screenplay in exchange for being attached, but that the scribe sold out to Summit

Prolific movie and television producer GavinPolone has sued screenwriter Pablo Fenjves and Summit Entertainment, claiming the defendants conspired to produce a film despite an agreement that Polone's company would see it through in exchange for his script input.

Polone (left), who has produced several films and TV shows including "Zombieland" and episodes of "Curb Your Enthusiasm," filed his lawsuit Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The suit says Fenjves aligned himself with Polone's Pariah shingle in 2001 to work jointly to develop a screenplay. In exchange for Polone's input — which the producer claims was substantial — Fenjves was to agree thatPolone or Pariah would produce the film "Man on a Ledge" as well.

But instead, the suit claims, Fenjves secretly entered into a producing agreement with Summit.

Polone is alleging breach of contract against Fenjves and interference with contractual relations against Summit. Damages were not specified, though Polone does ask for punitive damages against the studio.
