The season premiere of “Grey’s Anatomy” Thursday night on ABC made for some arresting television — and a lot of fans were seriously unhappy about it.
The end of the episode found Dr. Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) arrested, cuffed and thrown behind bars, after getting into a misunderstanding, and an altercation.
The arrest left many fans wondering if Karev might be the next “Grey’s Anatomy” character to depart the show, after a series of exits — and they took to Twitter en masse to register their outrage.
Some viewers even threatened to abandon the show if the character departed.
“REMEMBER WHEN EVERYONE HATED KAREV AND NOW WE DONT WANT HIM TO LEAVE,” one distressed fan offered.
“Please @shondarhimes don’t get rid of Alex! We all love him,” another pleaded.
“Shonda, you killed Denny & George, I stayed. You killed Lexie & Mark, I stayed. You killed Derek, I stayed. If Alex goes I go,” yet another unsatisfied customer threatened.
“If Alex leaves I’m done,” another fan said.
“This better not be an introduction to Karev leaving the show. I CANT HANDLE ANY MORE LOSSES DAMNIT,” went another worried response.
