‘Homeland’ EP Howard Gordon Sells Superhero Script to Fox

Project will center around a young woman who develops a vigilante persona after her detective father is coerced into working for a corrupt head of Internal Affairs

Howard Gordon is going to heroic measures for Fox.

The network has placed a script plus penalty order from "Homeland" executive producer Gordon (pictured) for a "'superhero' origin story" currently titled "Vigilant."

The story, which Gordon is executive-producing along with "Chronicle" writer Max Landis (who's also writing "Vigilant"), will be told from the perspective of a brilliant 20-year-old woman who is also a social outcast.

After an honorable veteran detective is brutally coerced into working for the corrupt head of Internal Affairs, the detective's daughter plans her revenge by meticulously constructing a fictional vigilante persona to take on the criminal elements within the police department and the city.

The project will be produced by Teakwood Lane, Gordon's recently established production company under 20th Century Fox Television. Teakwood Lane head of television Hugh Fitzpatrick will co-executive produce.

Hollywood Reporter first reported the news of the "Vigilant" deal.
