Jeff Junge has been named senior vice president of online games and digital games platforms for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Digital Distribution, the company announced on Tuesday.
Junge’s new position was specifically created to help lead the company’s expansion into digital gaming.
Junge recently led the studio’s acquisition of Turbine Inc., an online gaming studio. In his new post, Junge will oversee Turbine. He also will continue to oversee the integration of TT Games, which the studio acquired in 2007. Beyond games, Junge will work to expand and leverage Turbine’s digital publishing and community platforms across the studio’s home entertainment businesses.
Most recently, Junge was senior VP, business management, for Warner Bros. home entertainment group, handling mergers and acquisitions and strategic initiatives across all of the studio’s home entertainment divisions. Prior to that, Junge was VP of business management, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group, overseeing the integration of multiple strategic business initiatives.
In a release announcing his new post, Warner Bros. said Junge facilitated the company’s investment in the videogame-on-demand service, OnLive. He has also guided multiple acquisitions, such as Rocksteady Studios, Midway Games’ development studios and intellectual property catalog, and TT Games.
Junge joined the studio in 2000.
