Mark Burnett to Produce Bible Miniseries for History

The “Survivor” creator will bring a 10-part religious adaptation to basic cable in 2013

The Bible has its fair share of men and women who persevere under extreme circumstances.

This is why it's not a huge surprise to learn that History has tapped "Survivor" creator Mark Burnett to produce a 10-part docu-drama based on the best-selling book of all time.

The miniseries, which will contain scripted live-action and a healthy dose of CGI (how else to depict Moses parting the Red Sea?), isn't set to air until spring 2013. But History has said that the epic will include the story about Noah's ark, the telling of the Exodus, and the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.

What, no Ezekiel?

As for casting ideas, here's hoping that frequent "Survivor" player and recent winner Boston Rob turns up as Judas.
